All Set for Miss Global in Bali

Miss Global, the beauty search that celebrates empowered women, is once again back on live stage as it prepares to crown a new beauty queen for the pageant's 2022 edition.

Close to 70 contestants from all over the world have made their way to Bali, Indonesia to vie for the title in the much-awaited finals slated on June 11 at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center.

Before the coronation night, the candidates will visit some of Bali's top tourist spots, and participate in several pre-pageant activities and photoshoots including the preliminary competition on June 8 at the TS Suites Hotel, Seminyak, Bali.

"We are very thrilled to finally hold a live coronation night in Bali after 3 postponed dates, 2 years of pandemic and a virtual competition," says Van Pham, Miss Global president.

"We have been looking forward to this event, and we couldn't wait to bring another unforgettable staging of Miss Global."

This year's Miss Global pageant is presented in partnership with the Mahakarya Duta Pesona Indonesia organization under the leadership of its National Director Dr. Kishanty Hardaningtyas. With their experience in organizing events, the coronation night brings to the fore the best of Indonesian arts, culture, and fashion.

Among the invited Indonesian artists who will perform include Maria Simorangkir, Alien child, Barsena, Rivia Laksita, Turah, Batavia Dance, Duo Percussion, and Sesaluk Art.

"It is the first time the Miss Global coronation night will take place in Bali. The event is very well supported by the central and provincial governments of Bali as part of its continuing efforts to promote tourism and accelerate economic recovery," Kishanty enthuses.

The pageant's 9th edition will see not one, but two crownings. Aside from the incoming queen, the Miss Global organization will also recognize the winner of 2021's virtual pageant. It will be a historical night in celebrating 2 titleholders in this world class event.

"The pandemic left us with no other choice but to hold a virtual competition earlier this year as our 2021 edition," Pham recalls.

"It is only fitting that we give a much-deserved crowning moment for the 2021 queen now that we can hold a live pageant."

Taking on the hosting chores is one of Indonesia's sought-after TV presenters Altaf Vicko together with former Miss Universe Natalie Glebova who's making a return to the Miss Global stage as co-host.
