Media sosial sempet heboh dengan kontroversi lagu Birdy milik Pamungkas yang belum lama ini rilis. Lagu tersebut diduga hasil plagiat puisi karangan Charles Bukowski berjudul The Bluebird.

Isu dugaan plagiarisme Pamungkas terungkap karena cuitan Twitter seorang pegiat sastra bernama Hamzah Muhammad.

"Problem Pamungkas bukan musikalitas. Tapi mentalitas. Single terbarunya Birdy tidak menawarkan pembacaan ulang atas The Bluebird Charles Bukowski. Birdy adalah parafrase yang buruk," tulis Hamzah Muhammad, Kamis (3/2).

Hamzah menyebutkan bahwa Pamungkas seolah tidak kapok dengan kasus plagiarisme. Sebelumnya, pelantun To The Bone ini pernah tersandung kasus plagiat artwork artis Prancis Baptiste Virot.

"Setelah kasus plagiasi cover album, sekarang puisi. Rasanya ada yang belum selesai di dirinya," lanjut Hamzah yang juga penerjemah puisi Charles Bukowski.
