ENHYPEN Opens Up About New Album 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD' & Concert Preparation in Jakarta

ENHYPEN opened up about his latest album, ROMANCE : UNTOLD and greeted fans in Indonesia during an interview with InsertLive.

JAKE said that he is really excited to announce that their second album has been released on July 12th.

1. First of all, congratulations for your new album. How is the album ROMANCE : UNTOLD different from the previous album and is there a connection between this album and the previous one?

[HEESEUNG] I think the musical quality of this album is truly unique and remarkable. Each song carries its own message and charm, making this album a captivating experience for the listeners. Plus, there are parts that tie back to the stories from our previous albums, so I hope ENGENEs enjoy discovering and following those connections too.

2. “XO (Only If You Say Yes)” is the main song of this album, what are the main points of the “XO (Only If You Say Yes)” song that you believe will be accepted by fans and music listeners in general? And what part of this song do you find difficult?

[SUNGHOON] The melody itself is very catchy and easy to sing along with, making it accessible and enjoyable for a wide audience. We all thoroughly enjoyed the creative process and, thankfully, didn’t encounter any significant difficulties along the way.

3. The song “Brought The Heat Back” is very different from “XO (Only If You Say Yes)”, how do you give emotion to each song?

[JAY] The lead single "XO (Only If You Say Yes)" has a soft and romantic feel to it, while "Brought The Heat Back" presents a more playful vibe. We focused on expressing these unique qualities to match the mood of each track.

4. In this album, several members participated in making songs, can JUNGWON and HEESEUNG tell about their experiences?

[JUNGWON] I had the chance to participate in the songwriting process for “Hundred Broken Hearts,” and seeing my name in the credits for the first time was incredibly fulfilling. It was heartening to see our members enjoy themselves while working on the song I contributed to. This experience has been eye-opening and has spurred my enthusiasm to contribute even more to our future albums.

[HEESEUNG] I know ENGENEs have been eagerly anticipating my music for a while now, so I wanted to make the first song I showcase a truly exceptional one. I apologize for the delay in presenting my song, but I can tell you with confidence that “Highway 1009” is just a start and the tracks that I’m preparing will exceed ENGENEs’ expectations. 5. HEESEUNG made the song Highway 1009 for ENGENEs, what feelings do you want to convey through this song and how involved are the other members?

[HEESEUNG] Through this track, I wanted to reflect the emotions I’ve felt for ENGENEs over the past four years. It goes beyond mere gratitude; it expresses my deep desire to continue our journey together for the long haul.

[NI-KI] All the members contributed to writing the lyrics, filling this track with messages we want to share with ENGENEs. We poured our hearts into it, and I hope they enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

6. Apart from releasing the album, you will also be holding a world tour and Indonesia is finally on the list after a long time. How do you feel about finally meeting Engines in Indonesia?

[JAKE] Words can’t express how excited we all are. Just like all ENGENEs, ENGENEs in Indonesia brought such great energy the last time we were there, and I can’t wait for our first concert in Indonesia. Please look forward to it!

7. Before going to Indonesia, what did you prepare? Are you learning a language, or finding out about culinary delights or tourist destinations?

[SUNOO] I learned “sampai jumpa,” which means ‘see you again’ in Indonesian. As we prepare to meet ENGENEs in Indonesia, we’re doing our best to put on an unforgettable show for everyone who comes to see us.

8. Last but not least, any words for fans, especially those in Indonesia?

[SUNGHOON] We’re thrilled to finally host our concert in Indonesia for the first time. We know it took a while, but I believe the wait will make this moment even more special. We’ve been able to work hard and achieve so much thanks to the immense support from ENGENEs worldwide, including those in Indonesia. Thank you all so much for everything, and see you soon!
